“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?”—Psalm 92:11-13, NLT
Welcome to our Sunday afternoon communique!
As we continue our walk in seeking for the Lord’s intervention for our great nation, we are interceding for Him to release The Third Great Awakening and to move in our upcoming election to bring people into office who honor the values of the Bible rather than the values of their special interest groups.
A part of our prayer focus this week and for the next month should also be The Return, scheduled for September 26, in Washington DC. This is a national call to a solemn assembly on behalf of our country and interceding for revival.
A concept that is quite clear in God’s Word is that we are to come against injustice in our personal lives as well as in our judicial system. This is a powerful focus, that justice as declared by God’s Word would be administered in our courts.
Likewise, I invite you to pray for those who are carrying heavy yokes of oppression that has taken away person liberty and freedom.
Prophetically this is spoken of the ministry of the Messiah in Isaiah 61.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me, for the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. 2 He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the LORD’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.” —Isaiah 61:1-2 (NLT2)
It is evident in the two fellowships where I am active that the Spirit of the Lord has begun to move. It’s just a trickle, but a river of God’s anointing and power is coming. Pray for your family and for your fellowship, “More Lord!”
The blessing of Jesus be with you this week,
Paul Laursen, on behalf of Advent Leadership and The Praise Community
