Fasting & Prayer – January 17, 2021

Welcome to another week of prayer on behalf of our nation, and seeking for The Third Great Awakening to be released!

We are just days away from inauguration day and it is quite evident that our country is far from settled in to a place of peace and calm.

Today I ask you, what is the Lord saying to you and how are you being led to pray? For me, this is a time to ask for the Father’s mercy upon our land. This week, I am focusing on spiritual renewal for our people. I see our nation embroiled in a massive, highly divisive season where we desperately need the Hand of the Lord to intervene.

It is so important that the church is in the midst of the people, impacting our culture directly. You and I are the church. Let us remember that who we are and how we live has tremendous impact. Be what you are asking the Lord to do. Be His Living Word in your sphere of influence this week.

So, in addition to what you are led to lift up this week, I encourage you to ask the Lord for mercy and for the birthing of nationwide, boat-swamping revival to sweep from coast to coast. It’s time.
I pray that the passages below assist you in focusing your prayer this week!

Psalm 80:17-19 (NCV) With your hand, strengthen the one you have chosen for yourself. 18 Then we will not turn away from you. Give us life again, and we will call to you for help. 19 LORD God All-Powerful, take us back. Show us your kindness so we can be saved.

Psalm 85:6-9 Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you? 7 Show us your unfailing love, O LORD, and grant us your salvation. 8 I listen carefully to what God the LORD is saying, for he speaks peace to his faithful people. But let them not return to their foolish ways. 9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him, so our land will be filled with his glory.

Isaiah 64:1-5 (NCV) Tear open the skies and come down to earth so that the mountains will tremble before you. 2 Like a fire that burns twigs, like a fire that makes water boil, let your enemies know who you are. Then all nations will shake with fear when they see you. 3 You have done amazing things we did not expect. You came down, and the mountains trembled before you. 4 From long ago no one has ever heard of a God like you. No one has ever seen a God besides you, who helps the people who trust you. 5 You help those who enjoy doing good, who remember how you want them to live. But you were angry because we sinned. For a long time, we disobeyed, so how can we be saved?

1 Kings 18:21 (NCV) Elijah approached the people and said, “How long will you not decide between two choices? If the LORD is the true God, follow him, but if Baal is the true God, follow him!“ But the people said nothing.

Revelation 3:20 (NCV) Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me.

The Lord Jesus bless you this week as you go for it!
