Fasting & Prayer Initiative, Week 16

“That is why the LORD says, “Turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping, and mourning. “

—Joel 2:12 (NLT2)

Happy Sunday afternoon!

Finn and I are just back from Florida, driving a U-Haul truck for my son and his wife as they move back home to Ohio. What a trek, what a blessing.. This afternoon’s nap will feel really good.

More importantly the election is just two days away. Last week I was in Daniel. People of God living under foreign rule. The Lord led and protected Daniel in a challenging situation. This week I have been meditating on Jericho and it’s destruction. Yes, there was destruction, but one person, Rahab, believed in the God of Israel and was protected. Whatever the situation, the Lord knows the way of the righteous (Psalm 1:6).

So, we are asking for the Lord’s intervention to place His people in the right places locally, regionally, and nationally. This is a significant time for our nation. As we are seeking the Lord for spiritual renewal, please stay focused!

Ezra 8:21 (NASB) Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God to seek from Him a safe journey for us, our little ones, and all our possessions.

Acts 14:23 (NASB) When they had appointed elders for them in every church, having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.

Isaiah 58:6 (NASB) “Is this not the fast which I choose, To loosen the bonds of wickedness, To undo the bands of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free And break every yoke?

The Lord Jesus bless you this week,
